Donation Refund Policy

Last updated January 9, 2024

All donations are gifts made voluntarily to Deed Community Giving Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity, with no conditions. Donors receive a tax receipt from Deed Community Giving Foundation at the time of the donation. Donors who request refunds may not be eligible for tax deductions on their refunded donations.

Each month, Deed Community Giving Foundation grants funds to enrolled charities, either directly or through our network of partner DAFs. Deed Community Giving Foundation does not provide refunds on donations that we have already granted to a charity. Donors who wish to request a refund for a donation that has already been granted may contact the benefiting charity directly, but the charity is not under any obligation to return a donation.

In exceptional circumstances, refunds may be granted at Deed Community Giving Foundation’s sole discretion. Refunds in exceptional circumstances may only be considered when the funds at issue have not been granted to a charity. Some circumstances in which refunds might be granted include:

The donation was made in error, or was made in an incorrect amount, or

The donation was not authorized by the donor, or

Other exceptional circumstances impacting the donor. Donors with exceptional circumstances such as these may contact the DCGF donation team at dcgf@joindeed.com to request consideration of their request.
